BAE Systems‘ U.S. arm has introduced a virtual system of systems testbed in a move to help customers experiment with systems and data management processes prior to implementation in multidomain mission environments.
The open architecture testing platform employs virtual modeling, traceability and direct mapping tools to identify limitations on system performance and areas of improvement for emerging technologies to address time-sensitive missions, the company said Thursday.
Ravi Ravichandran, vice president and chief technology officer at BAE’s intelligence and security business, said the SoS testbed offers system engineering linkages that work to look for the critical value points of customer’s architecture.
The tool is designed to support the joint force decision-making process by providing technical and system recommendations and linking architecture specifications, digital modeling, high-fidelity simulation and command-and-control technologies.
Al Whitmore, president of the BAE Intelligence & Security sector and four-time Wash100 winner, said the company aims to help customers accelerate information delivery and meet multidomain operational requirements with its new systems engineering offering.
