The White House plans to nominate Ely Ratner as assistant secretary for Indo-Pacific security affairs at the Department of Defense and 2021 Wash100 Award recipient Stacey Dixon as principal deputy director at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
Ratner is a special assistant to the secretary of defense and director of DOD’s China Task Force while Dixon serves as deputy director at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, the White House said Wednesday.
Ratner served as deputy national security adviser to Vice President Joe Biden during the Obama administration. He joined the Department of Defense (DOD) as Secretary Lloyd Austin’s special assistant on China and led a departmentwide review on military posture for countering the said country, DefenseNews reported Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Dixon has held multiple positions in the intelligence community since 2003. She played a crucial role in advanced satellite system development for CIA’s directorate of science and technology from 2003 to 2007. She also worked for the U.S. House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
