Cobham Mission Systems has been awarded a three-year contract by Sabena technics to provide comprehensive through-life support (TLS) and air-to-air (AAR) equipment maintenance in support of refueling tankers, Cobham Mission Systems reported on Tuesday.
“Our TLS agreements provide customers with long-term cost savings and faster access to parts and technical support, and gives us important insight into the full AAR product lifecycle… to inform and educate product design teams working on next generation AAR solutions,†said Russell Bailey, vice president air-to-air refueling for Cobham Mission Systems in the UK.
Cobham Mission Systems support will help Sabena technics ensure continued operations of the French Air Force’s KC-135 refueling tankers. Under the contract, the former will provide in-service support to the air-to-air refueling pods fitted to the French KC-135 fleet.
The company’s work will include repair and overhaul services, engineering support, obsolescence management and guaranteed availability of spares and consumables, during later stages of the aircraft service life.
Cobham Mission Systems has provided a comprehensive portfolio of “nose to tail†AAR products. Through TLS service agreements, the company has enabled customers to maintain optimal operations and efficiencies throughout the entire product lifecycle.
