The Department of Defense has released a draft request for information to gather industry input on a planned Cooperative Research and Development Agreement with the U.S. Air Force for opening Platform One, a DevSecOps platform, to a partnership with the private sector.
USAF's AFWERX unit aims to enhance the military branch's coding environment through a software development CRADA that will enable collaboration between the government and academic and industry organizations, according to the draft RFI posted Tuesday on the beta SAM website.
The effort is intended to commercialize the Platform One capabilities, provide industry with incentives to use said capabilities and enable teams from the government to remain focused on pipeline improvement and industry security practices compliance.
CRADA will allow non-government entities to gain access to subject matter experts at Air Force and resell Platform One products. Partners will also be able to use the continuous authority to operate Platform One.
Interested parties can submit responses to the draft RFI until Feb. 9.
