Kratos Defense and Security Solutions has unveiled an aircraft simulation training system designed to support immersive scenarios beyond augmented- and virtual-reality.
Kratos said Monday it intends to offer the Aircrew Combat Mission Training platform as a turnkey service that supports simultaneous pilot training through various aircraft platforms such as H-60 and H-1 military helicopters.
ACMT combines the Kratos Ground Party Simulator with the company's Multi-Position – Aircrew Virtual Environment Trainer, which is a rotorcraft fuselage designed to provide helicopter engineers with physical assets in addition to virtual air- and ground-targeting elements.
When integrated with the Kratos GPS offering, MP-AVET provides scenarios for combat controllers, fire teams, forward observers and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers.
Wade Koch, vice president of business development at Kratos' training solutions segment, said that ACMT’s launch represents the first time helicopter aircrews can train simultaneously in a simulated environment.
The turnkey service also covers logistics, courseware development and mission instruction support, he noted.
ACMT’s design builds on Kratos’ Immersive Technology Platform, according to the company.
