Dynetics has produced a full-size mockup of its human landing system three months after the Leidos subsidiary received a design and development contract to support NASA's Artemis moon mission.
Huntsville, Alabama-based LSINC helped build the lunar lander test article as a subcontractor and the project team will conduct initial assessments to identify human-in-the-loop tasks, calculate habitable volume and study crew module interfaces, Dynetics said Tuesday.
NASA awarded Dynetics, Blue Origin and SpaceX separate 10-month Artemis HLS contracts worth $967M combined in late April.
The Leidos subsidiary's platform is designed to integrate and launch on the Block 1B rocket configuration of the Space Launch System.
Dynetics added its team completed reviews of DHLS system requirements and certification baseline.
