The accreditation body of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification has selected 73 provisional assessors who will undergo the first training on Aug. 31 and carry out CMMC assessments during the provisional period.
CMMC said Tuesday the Provisional Assessor program seeks to come up with a pool of assessor candidates to give feedback and share their experience during the assessment process with the accreditation body and the Department of Defense.
“It’s time to get Assessors into the field and test the process. The Provisional Program is designed to do just that,†said Ty Schieber, board chair of CMMC-AB.
The four-day initial training will be followed by a test. After the certification, the assessor candidates will get a chance to implement CMMC pathfinders and pilots as part of CMMC third party assessment organization teams and will be listed on the CMMC-AB marketplace as provisional assessors.
