ICF has received a potential five-year, $9M task order to craft a framework for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to implement emerging information technology across public health programs.
CDC awarded the order with a one-year base period plus four one-year options via the General Services Administration’s Alliant 2 governmentwide contract vehicle, the company said Tuesday.
Work will include support for the CDC Office of the Chief Information Officer’s design acceleration, rapid prototyping and innovation management activities.
The agency plans to use the resulting framework to inform research efforts, proof-of-concept demonstrations and various forms of technical assistance related to emerging IT.
Mark Lee, senior vice president and public sector lead at ICF, said the company aims to help the CDC OCIO identify underlying issues and potential approaches to address IT modernization challenges.
ICF noted that it has supported more than 100 federal rapid prototyping initiatives over the past two years with the use of open source technology and human-centered design.
