A National Institute of Standards and Technology-backed collaborative hub for cybersecurity has asked 10 vendors to develop an approach for the manufacturing sector to protect integrity of data in industrial control systems.

The National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence said Monday it chose the companies with proposed systems that aligned with technical specifications for the Protecting Information and System Integrity in Industrial Control System Environments Project.

Collaborators agreed to provide hardware or software and services to help NCCoE create a reference and implement example standards for industry.

The consortium aims to produce an guide that will outline practical methods to comply with cybersecurity standards from NIST and the private sector.
