Mercury Systems has begun to produce small-form-factor memory devices that are designed for mission computing and sensor processing systems.
The company said Tuesday it developed the new offering to function in austere environments and help customers store up to 4 gigabytes of data in a compact package.
The device uses a synchronous dynamic random-access memory with double data rate third-generation technology.
Chris Opoczynski, vice president and general manager of Mercury’s microelectronics secure solutions group, said the 4GB HD DDR3 for use with radars, commercial avionics and missile guidance subsystems.
Production of Mercury's memory technologies takes place at facilities accredited by the Defense Microelectronics Activity.
