Xendee has been awarded a contract to develop a standardized design and modelling platform for the Department of Defense to increase resilience and security of microgrid systems at installations.
The San Diego-based company said Tuesday it aims to help DoD use renewable energy, sustain critical activities and survive a power outage through an integrated microgrid infrastructure.
Personnel from the Lawrence Livermore and Pacific Northwest national laboratories, Reilly Associates, California Polytechnical Institute, Arizona State University, the U.S. Air Force, the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army will support the project.
Xendee also looks to further develop its Fight-Through technology to support the department's requirements such as integrating cybersecurity as a microgrid design standard.
The San Diego-based company offers its microgrid decision support and analysis platform through a software-as-a-service delivery model.
