The Walter Reed Army Institute of Research has posted a request for information to seek potential sources of modeling and prediction analysis services in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Nextgov reported Thursday.
The institute intends to predict COVID-19’s potential effects within various areas on military combatant commands.
WRAIR looks to partner with a research laboratory to conduct forecasts on clinical outcomes, epidemic spread, resource allocation, healthcare system and medical and non-pharmaceutical interventions.
According to the RFI, the potential contractor is required to employ existing statistical models and perform over two modeling analyses if necessary. The contractor will also adopt other models to validate force health protections and create pre-print and academic journals with WRAIR investigators.
Interested vendors have until May 4 to submit their responses.
The U.S. Army accounts for 998 of 6.8K reported COVID-19 cases in the U.S. military.
