The U.S. Army has picked 20 small businesses and technology companies that will move to the third phase of xTechSearch 4.0 competition.
“We must proactively and aggressively engage with innovators to see what new ideas, concepts, systems and sub-system components they can bring to the table,†Bruce Jette, assistant secretary of the Army for acquisition, logistics and technology and a 2020 Wash100 award winner, said in a statement published Wednesday.
Jette launched in 2018 the xTechSearch competition to encourage small businesses and tech entrepreneurs to showcase their "dual-use" technology platforms with defense and commercial applications.
The Phase III participants are:

The Army will hold the Phase III event in March in Huntsville, Ala., to allow participants to share their business and product development plans as well as their proposed proof-of-concept demonstrations. The service branch will give a prize of $120K to up to 12 companies that will be selected to present their proof-of-concept demonstrations at the Association of the United States Army’s annual conference in Washington, D.C.
