The Army Research Office and the National Security Agency have jointly launched a solicitation for methods and protocols to characterize, verify and validate computing platforms with 10 to 20 qubits.
The broad agency announcement is seeking ideas for how to evaluate intermediate-scale quantum machines and identify the data subset that is directly relevant to fault-tolerant quantum computation, the Army said Monday in a notice posted on the beta SAM website.
The first category of the BAA will center on integrated experimental and theoretical studies aimed at addressing quantum characterization, verification and validation challenges.
The second category will focus on theoretical research of novel approaches to advance the QCVV procedure
Interested parties can submit proposals through March 17.
