Cubic has pledged to support the establishment of a building at the University of California San Diego's Jacobs School of Engineering.
UC San Diego named the new university hall after alumnus Franklin Antonio and seeks to promote open, collaborative research efforts with an interdisciplinary approach through the 186K-square-foot facility, Cubic said Wednesday.
The company’s philanthropic support will aid in UC San Diego’s vision to develop a digital future via collaboration across academia and industry.
“Cubic has been an active supporter and collaborator of private-academia research with local San Diego universities since the founding of our company nearly 70 years ago,†said Bradley Feldmann, chairman, president and CEO of Cubic.
“We are honored to advance our support of and collaboration with UC San Diego and its stellar students to solve engineering-related challenges that will help us in fulfilling our company’s purpose – innovating to make a positive difference in our society and people’s lives.â€
A groundbreaking ceremony at the site will take place on Nov. 15.
