Kleos Space has established a subsidiary in the U.S. to offer maritime intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance data products to the country's defense and national security programs.
The Luxembourg-based company said Tuesday Kleos Space Inc. will continue the work its parent organization has pursued via the U.S. Air Force's Catalyst Accelerator and Small Business Innovation Research programs.
The subsidiary aims to secure an SBIR Phase 2 contract through technology accelerator Ithaca Solutions.
Retired Air Commodore Peter Round, executive chairman of Kleos, will be interim CEO of the subsidiary until a U.S. citizen is hired to take the helm on a full-time basis.
Karyn Hayes-Ryan, a former executive at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office, will serve as director of the newly incorporated entity.
Kleos aims to deploy satellite infrastructure designed to deliver commercial ISR and geoservice data, as well as offer a data-as-a-service platform to the global public sector.
