Woolpert has introduced a software service that will enable customers to store and manage access to their proprietary geospatial imagery data in a cloud environment.
The STREAM:RASTER subscription-based service allows users to leverage imaging data through geographic information systems and mapping software such as Esri, OpenLayers and Google Maps, Woolpert said Friday.
Dylan Thomas, cloud director at Woolpert, said the software service ensures continued access to GIS data despite high user demands during disasters and other emergency events.
“Every day we work with state and local governments who manage large amounts of GIS data to support multiple initiatives,†he said. “STREAM:RASTER allows them to focus on the application of that data without having to hire additional staff for its operational support.â€
STREAM:RASTER covers Woolpert support and is based on the company’s SmartView Connect application designed to allow viewing of GIS and orthoimagery data prior to the completion of a project.
