Lockheed Martin has commenced the construction of a new long-range fires production facility that would extend the firm’s existing site in Camden, Ark. It invested $142M in the new facility, which will help the company create 326 new jobs over the next five years, the company said Tuesday.
Construction is expected to conclude in early 2021. The new facility expands the Camden site’s production operations space by over 70,000-square feet, and will house work in support of various missile programs such as the Army Tactical Missile System.
Lockheed broke ground on the facility’s location in the presence of multiple Arkansas officials.
