Northrop Grumman has booked orders worth a combined $24.8M to manufacture and deliver medium-caliber ammunition to the U.S. Army. The service branch ordered 30 X 173mm PGU 46/B high-explosive incendiary rounds through a supply contract between the company and the government, Northrop said Thursday.
Production of the ammo rounds will take place at company-operated facilities in Virginia and processing will occur at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in Independence, Mo.
The company’s Alliant Techsystems Operations subsidiary received a $194M order from the service branch in April for the delivery of 5.56mm, 7.62mm and Cal. 50 cartridges.
