Accenture announced on Thursday that Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, former NASA astronaut and former administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), has joined the Accenture Federal Services Board of Managers. In the role, Sullivan will provide strategic insight on Accenture Federal Services’ vision, innovation and growth journey.

Sullivan flew on three space shuttle missions during her 15 years with NASA and was the first American woman to walk in space. After her departure from NASA, Sullivan held a wide range of senior executive positions, including a presidential appointment as chief scientist of the National Science Board, an assistant secretary of Commerce for Environmental Observation and Prediction and she officially became the deputy administrator for NOAA in 2014.
In addition, Sullivan also became the 2017 Charles A. Lindbergh Chair of Aerospace History at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Air and Space Museum and also served as a senior fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.
