A Frost & Sullivan report forecasts the military training and simulation market will grow from $9.28B to $19.65B by 2027, National Defense reported Monday.
The research firm predicted that commercial off-the-shelf offerings will potentially lower U.S. military training expenses and transform the market. It also noted that the military will focus on purchasing modern platforms and deploying warfighters in a move to augment combat readiness.
Alexander Clark, a research analyst for aerospace and defense at Frost & Sullivan, said virtual and augmented reality platforms will help expand the defense market’s training technologies.
“The U.S. should look abroad where these technologies are rapidly maturing and have a proven track record of implementation within the defense industry and amongst armed forces,†Clark said.
