FLIR Systems has unveiled new updates designed to boost the drug enforcement performance of its chemical detectors.
The portable G510 gas chromatograph mass spectrometer, or GC-MS, detector now features access to a built-in drug library and quick-search for a variety of hazardous substances, helping response teams detect chemicals on-site, the company said Thursday.
In addition, the detector allows users to select pre-installed method settings for sample analysis via on-screen prompts. It will automatically analyze samples to determine matches from across existing libraries.
Flir now also offers a vehicle-mount option accessory that equips the G510 detector for road and off-road use.
“These upgrades are all about simplifying the job for responders,†said Dennis Barket, vice president and general manager at FLIR’s detection division.
