Michael Farmer, a more than 30-year veteran in the aviation and defense industries, has been named vice president of life extension products at El Segundo, Calif.-based firm Kellstrom Defense Aerospace.
Farmer will oversee the LEP team’s implementation of intellectual property regulations in support of proprietary part manufacturing activities for end-of-life aircraft systems and equipment, KDA said Tuesday.
He previously spent time as capture manager for training and logistics services at Lockheed Martin’s rotary and mission systems business and held similar roles at the company’s aeronautics segment. His responsibilities include overseeing performance-based C-130 Hercules aircraft supply programs with international customers including the U.S., Europe, Asia, Middle East and South Pacific.
Prior to entering the private sector, Farmer served for the U.S. Navy where he operated the S-3A/B Viking jet’s weapons systems and was deployed to missions such as Operation Desert Storm.
He will be based at the firm’s Mirama, Fla. facility and report directly to Scott Wooden, KDA’s president of engineered products.
