Phil Jasper, president of the mission systems business at Collins Aerospace, has said the company continues work to help the Pentagon meet a demand for new military capabilities amid the rise of connected and digital battlefield, The Gazette reported Saturday.

The company is working with the Department of Defense to assess the immediate and long-term requirements of troops in the field.

Jasper noted that Collins Aerospace seeks to guide DoD in utilizing existing commercial products through a modification process, which he believes offers lower cost compared with developing new technology for the agency.

“At the end of the day, all of our technologies are integral to our customers achieving their mission, with the ultimate goal of bringing every war fighter home safely to his or her family or base,” he said.

Collins Aerospace generated nearly $3.5B in 2018 revenue from its mission systems business, according to Jasper.

He said there has been an increase in inquiries from customers about mission systems products and other capabilities the company could offer to support the government's 2024 lunar mission.
