A Capewell Aerial Systems-built virtual loadmaster training system has reached full operational capacity at Bradley Air National Guard Base in Connecticut.
VLTS is designed to provide trainees with a 360-degree view around the C-130 Hercules military transport aircraft when they wear virtual reality goggles, the 103rd Airlift Wing said Friday.
The company worked with 103rd AW loadmasters to build the trainer under a three-year partnership.
“The system is meant to fill a training gap that we saw as defense supplier to the Air Force,†said Jared Burns, director of operations at Capewell Aerial Systems.
Burns added the company applied feedback from 103rd AW leaders, instructors and loadmasters, instructors and leadership to the VLTS software development project.
