Leonardo DRSÂ has won a potential five-year, $53.7M contract to provide repair station consoles for the U.S. Navy's DDG-class guided missile destroyer modernization initiative.
The Department of Defense said Monday Leonardo's DRS Laurel Technologies business will deliver RSC supplies to naval bases, repair hubs, shipyards and contractor facilities within the continental U.S. area.
Eighty-five percent of contract work will occur in Chesapeake, Va., and the Navy will provide other performance locations upon the issuance of orders.
The service branch received two offers for firm-fixed-price, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract via a competitive acquisition process on FedBizOpps and is obligating $2.1M at the time of award.
DoD noted the RSC installation effort will include advance planning, ship check and prototype evaluation processes.
