Education Dept Seeks Middleware, Cloud Tech Services for Financial Aid Office - top government contractors - best government contracting event

The Department of Education has released a formal solicitation for a potential 10-year, $100M indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract that will cover middleware, cloud platform support and related services to the Office of Federal Student Aid.

A FedBizOpps notice released Monday stated the IDIQ is set-aside for small businesses that have middleware offerings that can support FSA's enterprise systems and applications.

The office looks to issue two task orders through the Enterprise Middleware Architecture and Services program, which is categorized into integrated technical architecture, enterprise service bus and cloud services.

A selected contractor may also work on addressing multiple iterations of middleware requirements that will each last for around 2.5 years.

FSA expects contract services to start between July 1 and Oct. 30.

The office provides financial assistance for loans, grants and work-study programs to support post-high school applicants. It  has a $1.4T lending portfolio, $1.1T of which are directly serviced.
