David Young, CenturyLink’s senior vice president for strategic government, told FCW in an interview published Friday that the company expects agencies to start awarding task orders soon to contractors with authority to operate under the General Services Administration’s 15-year, $50B Enterprise Infrastructure Solutions vehicle.
CenturyLink has become the first vendor to secure an ATO on the EIS contract for telecommunications and information technology services.
"ATOs give agencies the ability to award and begin their actual transition" to modernized telecom support services, Young, a 2019 Wash100 winner, said.
CenturyLink is one of the 10 companies that won positions on the EIS contract awarded in 2017.
According to the report, other companies that are expected to get their ATOs soon are AT&T, Verizon and MetTel.
