The Social Security Administration has awarded Mitre a potential $1.5M contract to provide technical consulting and acquisition advice as SSA works to consolidate three telephone service contracts into a single vehicle to deliver an enterprisewide unified communication platform.

Mitre will help SSA in the source-selection process, implementation and transition to the proposed Next Generation Telephony Project contract, according to a justification-and-approval notice posted Wednesday on FedBizOpps.
Under the sole-source contract, Mitre will perform program oversight and support contract award, cost-evaluation, technical assessement and post-award activities such as protest and debriefings in support of the NGTP acquisition vehicle, according to the notice.

“In addition, the contractor shall provide advice, strategies, analysis, briefings, and consultation, as requested by the agency, to prepare for the transition, implementation and contract management of the solution,” SSA added.
