Lockheed Martin‘s Skunk Works division has partnered with California’s Office of Business and Economic Development to drive job growth in the state.
The agreement creates new engineering and manufacturing jobs and authorizes Lockheed to invest $100M in new facilities within the Southern California area, the company said Thursday.
Jack O’Banion, vice president of business development at Lockheed, said the partnership would generate new aircraft development jobs in the state, adding to over 2.5K existing Skunk Works careers in Southern California.
Skunk Works has operated in Southern California for over 75 years, having developed the country’s first jet fighter, stealth fighter and fifth generation fighter in the area.
