The Department of Transportation has announced plans to award $60M in total grants to multiple projects that aim to test the integration of automated driving platforms into the U.S. roadway infrastructure.
DOT said Friday it seeks to collect safety data that can support the ADS rulemaking process, as well as encourage partnership between government and industry through the grant program.
The department will host an informational webinar on Jan. 8 to provide additional information about the funding opportunity and will name the recipients this spring.
