The Department of Homeland Security‘s Science and Technology Directorate will host an industry day on Dec. 11 to discuss partnership opportunities with technology startups to counter fake documentation.
DHS said Friday the event will take place in Menlo Park, Calif., and tackle an “other transaction” solicitation on the use of blockchain and distributed ledger technology to prevent falsification of records.
The agency is interested in technologies that can help address the challenges of interoperable digital entitlement attestations that work to support individual control and accountability of data release, according to a FedBizOpps notice posted Nov. 15.
Selected contractors will provide blockchain and DLT tools to the Customs and Border Protection, Citizenship and Immigration Services and the Transportation Security Administration.
DHS plans to grant up to $800K in funds for the project.
