Northrop Grumman has won the Aviation Week Program Excellence Award under the supplier aftermarket category for its software program designed to support the U.S. Air Force’s contingency and crisis action planning operations.
The company said Thursday over 300 program management representatives from the public and private sectors selected the Global Adaptive Planning Collaborative Information Environment software among various products and practices for the award.
GAP CIE allows combatant command teams, subordinate commands and agencies to collaborate in a virtual platform for mission planning and decision-making purposes.
Dan Verwiel, vice president and general manager of missile defense and protective systems at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, said the award recognizes the firm’s continued partnership with the U.S. Air Force in increasing partnerships across global combatant commands.
The Aviation Week Network also awarded Northrop’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye and Global Hawk MS-177 sensor integration teams as finalists of the award.
