Dell EMC Launches New Software, Services for Data Protection; Beth Phalen Quoted

Dell EMC has introduced new software and services designed to defend and protect data from ransomware and other cyber attacks.

The company said Wednesday its Cyber Recovery software includes security analytics, workflow and automation tools to help users isolate critical data in the event of a cyber incident and facilitate data retention within the CR Vault.

“Malicious insiders and sophisticated cyber attackers, especially those that employ ransomware, are known to deliberately target data protection and backup infrastructure,” said Beth Phalen, president of data protection at Dell EMC.

Phalen added the company’s Cyber Recovery software and services would help “ensure true data isolation and a last line of data protection defense for business-critical data from a variety cyber threats.”

The company’s Cyber Recovery Services seek to help organizations meet their cybersecurity requirements through workshop; advisory; deployment; advisory and roadmap; and implementation services.
