Technical and Project Engineering’s enterprise solutions unit has completed the third stage of a process level improvement training and evaluation program required by many Defense Department entities for software development contractors.
GMS Registrar performed the Capability Maturity Model Integration for Development Level 3 appraisal after TAPE passed the Standard CMMI Appraisal Method for Process Improvement evaluation, TAPE said Wednesday.
The CMMI-DEV module is used to grade companies that work as product developers.
The SCAMPI A appraisal focused on the U.S. Army’s Army Training Models program, which involves software support services for military training. It is TAPE’s largest contract to date.
Louisa Long Jaffe, president and CEO of TAPE, said the company has previously relied on defined processes to identify areas for improvement.
CMMI-DEV L3 covers 18 processes including project and process management as well as systems, hardware and software engineering functions.
The appraisal also covers various development and maintenance support processes.
