Lockheed Martin‘s Sikorsky subsidiary has begun to assemble systems designed to train U.S. Air Force to operate a combat rescue helicopter platform and its weapons system.
The company said Tuesday the HH-60W CRH trainers have reached final assembly at a Broken Arrow, Okla., facility managed by Sikorsky subcontractor FlightSafety International and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2019.
USAF will deploy the weapons systems trainer at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M. and install the operational flight trainer at Moody Air Force Base, Ga.
HH-60W is based on the UH-60M Black Hawk and designed to support combat rescue and other special missions.
Lockheed said the CRH trainers are intended to operate with other simulators that are connected to the Combat Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations network and comply with Federal Aviation Administration standards.
Sikorsky is contracted to deliver nine HH-60Ws and six complementary training systems to the Air Force.
