A SAP Concur-led industry team has secured a $9.3M “other transaction” agreement to develop a technology platform for Defense Department employees to manage travel bookings.
DoD said Thursday SAP Concur will collaborate with Accenture‘s federal services unit, Booz Allen Hamilton and CWTSato Travel to build a prototype for the Defense Travel System replacement effort.
More than two million active duty, reserve and civilian personnel use the current platform.
The industry team aims to complete the prototype within a 24-hour period and deliver a travel-as-a-service platform designed to comply with the Pentagon’s audit readiness requirements.
DoD intends for the system to help the department implement commercial travel processes.
SAP Concur is a “nontraditional” defense contractor headquartered in Bellevue, Wash., and offers integrated travel and expense management services.
