SAP National Security Services has updated a learning management system for the Defense Logistics Agency and selected Amazon Web Services to host the cloud-based training information technology application as part of a partnership between the two companies.
AWS said Monday it will support the Defense Department-authorized platform DLA uses to manage online training and education courses through the GovCloud (US) infrastructure.
The project marked the first case of a DoD agency gaining approval to move its learning management tool along with sensitive workload from a data center to a cloud platform.
Teresa Cesario, information operations project manager at DLA, collaborated with Michelle Jacobs, director of Defense Information Systems Agency‘s liaison and hosting office, to assemble a sponsorship team to help AWS and SAP NS2 address department requirements.
Both companies work with government customers to help them create and migrate IT applications in the cloud.
