The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency has awarded Esri a multi-year contract to support the agency’s efforts to provide geospatial intelligence to users worldwide including the U.S. military, government officials, intelligence agencies and first responders.
Esri said Wednesday that it will help NGA deploy the company’s ArcGIS platform into the organization to enable collaboration among worldwide geospatial datasets that include analytical content, foundation features, elevation and the precise point positioning across the defense and intelligence sectors.
The platform is designed to maintain data in a common, easy-to-understand format to enable quick response.
Esri and NGA have previously worked together in projects such as ArcGIS Online, ArcticDEM and the eNGAge program focused on immersing NGA employees to the academe and industry to gain exposure on emerging technologies.
