DHS’ Soraya Correa: Department Plans New Flexible Procurement Process for IT Services - top government contractors - best government contracting eventSoraya Correa, the Department of Homeland Security’s chief procurement officer, said some agile methodology from the canceled $1.5 billion Flexible Agile Support for the Homeland will be applied to a new information technology procurement, FCW reported Friday.

DHS plans to implement federal category management and agile and best-practice contracting activities to the replacement of the Security Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading-Edge Solutions II, Correa told the publication.

The publication detailed that the EAGLE II is slated to expire by 2020.

Correa said that the FLASH cancellation was followed by a broadened interest in DHS’ Procurement Innovation Lab and an expanded audience of commercial and federal contracting officers for “lessons learned” webinars.

The EAGLE II replacement is currently called Flashy Eagle, Correa told FCW.

The potential seven-year EAGLE II contract vehicle for enterprise IT infrastructure includes a five-year base period and a two-year option, with the position award dates determined through the three functional categories of service delivery, program support and verification.
