CAE has unveiled at the Farnborough International Airshow in the U.K. a simulation system designed for military helicopter mission and flight training.
The CAE 700 Mission Reality Series flight training device is based on the CAE 3000MR Series full-mission helicopter simulator and has a fixed-based platform and dynamic seat for motion cueing and vibration, the company said Monday.
Gene Colabatistto, group president for defense and security at CAE, said the company used customers’ insights to build a platform that aims to meet military helicopter training priorities such as an architecture that works to facilitate interoperability and networking, field-of-view visual system and tactical synthetic environment.Â
CAE 700MR Series also has the CAE Medallion-6000XR image generator system, instructor operator station with scenario development and editing functionalities and support for night vision goggle training, ship deck landings and other mission training scenarios and Open Geospatial Consortium Common Database support to build up mission rehearsal and interoperable training capabilities.
The platform is designed to meet the accreditation standards of the Federal Aviation Administration and the International Civil Aviation Organization for helicopter FTDs.
