QinetiQ‘s North American segment has completed negotiations under a contract that General Atomics awarded in 2017 for control hardware and software.
The equipment will function to control the electromagnetic aircraft launch system and advanced arresting gear of CVN 80 or the future USS Enterprise, the third U.S. Navy Ford-class aircraft carrier, the company said Monday.
The multi-year contract provides for the procurement, updating, assembly and testing of launch control and arresting control equipment.
The company will perform work at its facility in Franklin, Mass.
QinetiQ has produced aircraft launch and arresting control hardware of Ford-class ships for more than 10 years.
