Northrop Grumman has received a potential $17.9 million contract from the U.S. Navy to help the service branch’s Intermediate Maintenance Activity maintain Mk 48 submarine torpedoes for exercise and warshot use.
The company will render an average of 56,160 annual man-hours to support the operation and management of an Mk48 depot-level repair facility, the Defense Department said Wednesday.
Work will take place in Yorktown, Va. in support of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet and Pacific Fleet submarine forces.
The service branch will obligate $859,537 in fiscal 2018 operations and maintenance funds at the time of award.
The Naval Sea Systems Command received one offer for the contract via a competitive procurement process on FedBizOpps.
