Mark Cherry, vice president of Boeing’s Phantom Works unit, has said he reorganized the contractor’s technology arm to further realign it with other areas of the firm’s defense business, Inside Defense reported Thursday.
He told the publication that the reorganization effort resulted in the integration of Phantom Works’ personnel in key areas of the defense business such as autonomy, vertical-lift and fixed-wing aircraft programs.
Cherry added that he was asked by Leanne Caret, president of Boeing’s defense, space and security business, to position the technology unit to pursue government opportunities such as the U.S. Navy‘s MQ-25 Stingray unmanned aircraft.
Cherry joined Boeing’s Phantom Works in October 2017 after serving as president and chief operating officer at Aurora Flight Sciences.
