Basil Parker, former director of Defense Department programs at Technica, has joined the Office of Personnel Management as senior adviser for governmentwide information technology and cyber workforce development.
He will serve in the Senior Executive Service-level advisory role for a term of up to three years and advise the OPM director on workforce-related IT, information systems security and cyber matters, Technica said Tuesday.
Miguel Collado, CEO and chief technology officer of Technica, said that Parker contributed his defense and government IT experience to Technica’s federal market expansion efforts.
At OPM, Parker will also represent the agency as the primary liaison between the Federal Chief Information Officer Council, Chief Human Capital Officers Council, Office of Management and Budget and other federal IT workforce organizations.
He previously held served as vice president of DoD and cyber programs at ASRC Federal and also held positions at Booz Allen Hamilton, Veris Group, Telos, ValueOptions and Etensity.
Before joining the private sector, he worked at the Defense Information Systems Agency and the U.S. Marine Corps.
