Horacio Rozanski, CEO of Booz Allen Hamilton, has said the U.S. needs a national strategy to advance the development of artificial intelligence as the country is in a “close race†with China over the technology, Bloomberg reported Friday.
“I’m not sure that there’s a coordinated approach between the private sector and the public sector, and those are the things that, I think, are going to be necessary,†Rozanski told reporters Thursday.
He cited the role of academic institutions in training individuals to perform AI work.
The report said Chinese President Xi Jinping has set a national priority to increase AI-related output by up to 10 times as the Asian country seeks to become a leader in the AI field by 2030.
