A business unit of United Technologies Corp. will update the building systems of the Department of Veterans Affairs‘ facilities across the VA’s Great Lakes Health Care System under a $97 million contract.
NORESCO said Monday it aims to increase the energy and water efficiency of facilities at six sites of the Veterans Integrated Service Network 12 under the Energy Savings Performance Contract.
The contract includes enhancements to systems for lighting, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, building automation and domestic water as well as a program to maintain the steam trap and the construction of a new chiller plant.
The ESPC is intended to lower annual atmospheric emissions by 65 million pounds and help in the VA’s target to reduce energy consumption by 16 percent and water use by 28 percent.
NORESCO is a component of the UTC Climate, Controls & Security unit.
