Rockwell Collins has provided systems and services to aid testing efforts under NASA‘s Unmanned Aircraft System Traffic Management program.
The company said Monday it served as a UAS service supplier to help the agency manage safety of a UAS operating beyond visual line of sight during flight tests.
The two-week test series demonstrated the consecutive, repetitive use of Rockwell Collins’Â CNPC-1000Â command and control data links for providing a fail-safe connection supporting deployed UAS.
The company’s webUAS platform worked to manage and guide multiple UAS operations at the same time.
Staff of the the Northern Plains UAS Test Site administered the test series, while the University of Iowa’s Operator Performance Laboratory helped integrate the C2 systems into the Pulse Aerospace Vapor 55 test UAS.
