Kratos Defense & Security Solutions has completed an expansion of its military training and simulation facility in Orlando, Fla., in a move to further help the Defense Department prepare troops for combat missions.
The company said Wednesday the expanded facility offers military personnel with different warfighting training approaches such as simulated air, seal and land environments, digital experiences and classroom and hands-on instruction.
Other training technologies that Kratos provides include virtual, augmented and mixed realities and replicated physical controls that generate realistic and immersive simulations.
Kratos has also expanded its workforce at the Orlando site by 40 percent.
Jose Diaz, vice president of Kratos’ training solutions business, said the company aims to help address a growing demand for training technologies.
“Immersive training is reaching a high level of realism thanks to cutting edge technology like mixed reality and VR,†Diaz added.
A Frost and Sullivan report says that the continuing demand for MR training is generating investment and innovation in the military training and simulation market.
