The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency has selected Charles River Analytics to conduct tool studies on gray-zone analysis methods under a two-year, $1 million contract.
The company said Monday it is developing a new tool suite to support the Defense Department‘s efforts to analyze strategies aiming to address the gray-zone.
The gray-zone is an area of conflict between peace and warfare wherein hostility is difficult to discern, and serves as grounds for hidden tensions.
The Behavioral Analysis Leveraging Human Intelligence to Evaluate Viable and Explainable Deterrence Strategies or BELIEVES is being developed as a suite of tools designed to aid analysts in modelling environments, understanding adversarial points of view and forecast on a strategy’s effectiveness.
Charles River Analytics is incorporating the Figaro programming language with strategic analysis and game theory in constructing BELIEVES’ framework.
